MESC Group CEO, Hashem Al Huneidi tells why the group is branching out and creating opportunities

The initiative strength lies in promoting opportunities and in providing a drastic, long-term intervention and transparency in order to help bring the economy of the region to a competitive level given that the most construction and engineering materials have dropped dramatically in the last two quarters of 2009.

Project after project we have proved to the market that in our niche we are the leaders and have stayed true to our positioning statement "at the heart of every project”.

The key issue facing the cable industry is trying to understand future demand and trying to balance against investments, these concerns which run parallel to the global economy crisis for many of the regions growing companies represents a new paradigm to which an appropriate response has yet to be formulated.

Ultimately, like others we are going through challenging times and had to take steps to ensure orders and stability but our inspirations and business plans are developed with a very long view that we are in a temporary economic downturn despite the significant light on various aspects within the cable industry at such a crucial situation.
That’s why when we plan either for a new expansion or launch a new product we undergo lots of research in terms of feasibility and preliminary tests on the market and its requirements since the positioning of the product is obviously at a different level from previously and the quality of the finishes needs to be at a reasonable level.

Striving to create new benchmarks in the cable manufacture industry, the Group is increasingly confident about its long-term strategy and outlook for the future. That’s the reason behind the massive expansions that most of our companies like JNC Cables and Sharjah Cables Factory undertook to increase their capacity and product line, not to mention MESC-RAK the new cable factory that’s coming up in Ras Al Khaimah - UAE where it’s creating and opening new opportunities for skilled people within the industry

We see the Group as being a strong, stand-alone cables manufacturer who potentially one day could be one of the strongest development companies in the region branching out to cover all area within GCC, MENA and South Africa regions.
